Game developers us multiple platforms to sell their work such as Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store, GOG, and others.  Though these systems do not talk to each other to allow you to chose what launcher you wish to use.  Many time being limited to using the launcher that the software was purchased on.  

I would like to propose that the publishers and the stores unit and move to a cloud-based digital rights locker that will transfer your purchases to store or even platform of your choice.

By doing so it would Increase money spent by consumers and no worry of what platform they should go with.  It would also level the playing field and increase competition by stores which is a win win for both consumers and developers.

This has been done before with Hollywood with such projects as Movies Anywhere, VUDU, and UltraViolet. This is completely doable and with an army of great programmers this should have already been done.
