Help resettle Saudi sisters Maha and Wafa al-Subaie to a third safe country.

We are two sisters, Maha al-Subaie, 28, and Wafa al-Subaie, 25. We have fled Saudi Arabia where we were physically and emotionally abused by members of our family. We were forced to live our lives according to our male guardians, who threatened and abused us every day. Right now, we are in Georgia where we have escaped. We fear we will be killed if we are forcibly returned to Saudi Arabia. Georgia is not safe. Our entire tribe can travel to Georgia without a visa and remain here up to one year.
We are calling on the United Nations to help grant us asylum in a safe third country. We hope to live a dignified life where our human rights are protected.
Will you help us by signing this petition?
We have gone public with our story to help make the world see what is happening under Saudi Arabia’s guardianship law. The law means a male relative holds power to grant or reject critical decisions of a woman’s life like medical procedures, travel or work. It allows abuse to thrive and abusers to get away with their crimes.
Georgian law enforcement officers have tracked us down and asked us questions. Our father and brothers may have already arrived in Georgia and looking for us. We are scared we are not safe here.
Please help us.
