Law, Lori, a Drawing/Art teacher. I was personally happy to be in her class until I saw how she runs her classroom. She makes us buy our own tools, but yet sits out an entire box of tools. The tools were not cheap. The issue here, is that when she isn’t specific enough with the tools we buy, she fusses and says we can’t use them. Another issue prompted by her is the fact we can only use the restroom three times in her class a semester. She claims it won’t count against you if you wait until the last 5-10 minutes of class, the only issue is that the janitor cleans in there, plus when the bell rings tons of kids are in there, shoving, vaping, god knows what. As a student in her class, it “disrupts productivity”; what disrupts my productivity is not being able to use the restroom when I need to. I cannot perform my best when I need to use the restroom. Another issue I have with her is the fact everything must be perfect, and of its not then you must re-do it, and you get a bad grade. Art is subjective and isn’t perfect, you can always add on to something you make. The last problem I have with this teacher is the fact that she favourites certain students, they will get good grades, are allowed certain things, and are told about “bad students”. This needs to change. She blames her attitude and harsh words on being a Yankee, this gives them a bad reputation, and is childish. This affects the students mental health, and their work productivity. The student may give up on their hobby, not only ruining their mental health, but also wasting their potential. Us students, and the parents can help persuade the principal or supervisor to have her change her ways, or be fired.
