Unfair Justice System in the Philippines

Unfair Justice System in the Philippines

The Issue

The Philippine justice system often treats rich people better than poor people. Rich people can hire better lawyers and have more money to spend on their cases. Poor people may not have enough money to hire a good lawyer or pay for other things they need for their case. This can make it unfair for poor people to get a fair trial.

This is because rich people have more resources to access better legal representation and fight for their rights. Poor people, on the other hand, may struggle to find affordable legal help and may have to rely on overworked public defenders. This inequality in the justice system can continue existing social inequalities and further disadvantage the poor.

The example of this is the case of Alice Guo who is treated specially even if she is facing serious cases.
