The Issue

As a user and advocate for Pinterest as an educational tool in the Peninsula School District, this issue is deeply personal to me. As students and teachers, we rely on Pinterest to enhance our learning and teaching experiences. Through Pinterest, we find resources such as templates for neat and organized notes to help us in studying, and images for our research projects.

Restricting access to Pinterest in our school district is not just an issue of internet censorship—it is an obstacle to our learning process. Pinterest is known to host millions of ideas that inspire creativity and individuality, qualities that are essential in educating the future generation. A study by Babson Survey Research Group confirms that educators find value in Pinterest's ability to share resources (as cited in "Social Media in Higher Education", 2018).

We, therefore, urge the Peninsula School District to reconsider and revoke their decision to block Pinterest in our district. This way, we can continue to benefit from the educational opportunities Pinterest offers. Sign our petition to support this cause.
