RCSD has recently blocked Google Chrome; a beloved search engine to the student body. This has caused an outrage throughout all of the students. A reason that they blocked chrome was because of the increasing use of VPN’s. The use has skyrocketed due to the mindless blocking of websites that have no reason to be labeled as distracting. A simple solution to the problem of distracting websites is simply turning off the ability to access these sites during school hours. For example, block YouTube from 6:30 AM to 3:45 PM. It’s that easy. There is no consideration when it comes to the students that have nothing to do outside of school. Things would be much better if we could come to school, do our work, then go home and enjoy websites that aren’t destructive/inappropriate. If this isn’t communism, I don’t know what is.
