The Issue

In our everyday school life at Santa Fe, TX, the moments where we can catch a break are short and few. During those precious free periods, we're unable to use our phones. Bean.lol becomes the highlight of our day, providing a moment of fun and relaxation amidst a dense schedule of academics. However, the school's network restrictions have recently led to the blocking of our beloved Bean.lol on school laptops, taking away one of the few entertainment options available to us.

While it is understandable that schools have a duty to maintain a productive and distraction-free environment, it's crucial to acknowledge the importance of balance. Educational success isn't solely about work; it's also about growth, mental wellness, and the ability to disconnect and recharge when necessary. Bean.lol provides a light-hearted and enjoyable experience that helps in diminishing stress, fostering creativity, and even enhancing strategic thinking in a playful manner.

By unblocking Bean.lol, we can ensure that students have access to a balanced environment that caters not only to educational needs but also to personal well-being. This change would not affect the educational integrity of the school’s agenda, as access to Bean.lol would still be limited to free times, ensuring that it is only a tool for relaxation rather than distraction.

We propose allowing limited access to Bean.lol during specified times, such as lunch breaks or with permission, under supervision if necessary. By setting clear guidelines and expectations, we can find a middle ground that satisfies both the school administration's responsibility and students' needs.

Help us bring back a source of joy and relaxation to our school days. Sign the petition to request that Bean.lol be unblocked on our school laptops in Santa Fe, TX!
