Unbelievable, GCB Bank. You're punishing loyalty with higher fees.

The Issue
Unbelievable, GCB. You're punishing loyalty with higher fees.
GCB Bank has just announced a set of changes to their e-banking services that will take effect from May 1st, 2025 and for everyday customers, it’s nothing short of a slap in the face.
Here’s what they’re doing:
Charging GHS 15/month just to use e-banking unless you’re over 60.
Imposing a 1% fee (up to GHS 20) every time you transfer your money from bank to wallet via the mobile app.
Charging a whopping GHS 20 per ATM transaction after withdrawing just GHS 10,000.
This isn't innovation. It's exploitation.
We understand banks need to stay afloat, but squeezing customers dry while delivering the same services is just a bad practice. Especially at a time when Ghanaians are already grappling with high inflation and rising living costs. GCB is supposed to be “your bank for life, not one that nickel-and-dimes you for managing your own money.
Some customers are already expressing their outrage online and in person. But what’s missing is a collective stand our voices, united.
If we all speak up now by signing and sharing this petition, we can show GCB Bank just how many of us say NO to unjustified banking fees. If enough of us raise our voices, we could push GCB to drop or revise these plans before they go into effect.
So, will you add your name to this petition telling GCB Bank: Stop the new e-banking fees. Put customers first.

I’m not signing because…
It’s bad enough that banks make record profits from customers’ deposits and transactions. Now they want to charge us for accessing our own money, for using mobile apps that save them costs, and for simply using an ATM? It’s outrageous.
Banks should encourage digital banking, not penalize it. These new fees disproportionately affect students, young professionals, low-income earners, and the digitally dependent while exempting only those above 60.
We need to hold our banks accountable. Because once they get away with this, others will follow.
So, if you believe your bank should work for you, not profit off you, will you add your name today?
