Palo Alto High School's administrative office has unlawfully banned Schoology+, the Chrome extension which promotes students' well being, mental health and positive school life from their school-owned laptops. This is a violation of the students 1st amendment rights. This has negatively impacted the Palo Alto students, especially students of color as they are no longer able to express their cultural and ethnic identies through their Schoology page. This shows economic inequity as it targets students who are unable to afford their own laptops. We propose, as compensation, the following: Either the school unbans Schoology+, or provides sufficient funds to each student to purchase their own MacBooks. If these conditions are not met within the next month, we will take this to City Council.
