Freedom and Justice for TIBET

The Issue

Hello Friends!

Every country mark significant historical date in its founding as a nation. Regardless of its current political status, Tibet is no exception and it celebrates February 13th as an important day to commemorate Tibet’s independent past and to shape future for a free and independent Tibet.

On February 13, 1913, the great 13th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people restored Tibet as a sovereign nation and proclaimed Tibetan independence after the failed invasion of the Manchu army. To mark this historic day, on February 13th, 2013, the global Tibet movement observed the centennial of the Declaration of Tibetan Independence by His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama.

Through this petition, we plan to gain the much-required attention of the UN and the World Powers in forcing Chinese government to end its occupation of Tibet by returning sovereignty to the Tibetan people. Tibet was historically not only an independent nation, but also was one of the biggest empires in Central Asia during the seventh and eight centuries. Unfortunately, when the whole of China succumbed to the communist invasion, and in 1949 the newly established People’s Republic of China sent its troops to Tibet; by 1959, the whole of Tibet was invaded by the communist Chinese. Since then, the occupying forces have undertaken a campaign of massacre, torture and numerous violations of human rights in Tibet. Tibetan people, however, resisted against this total occupation, which culminated into the 10 March 1959 National Uprising. It was participated by more than 300,000 Tibetans in the capital Lhasa.

To honour the sacrifices of Tibetans, I appeal to Citizens of Planet Earth to support our petition to force China to FREE TIBET and to stop exploiting the peace-loving Buddhist citizens and their land for its materialistic benefits. In God & Humanity We Trust.

Please sign this petition to support the following demands:

  1. Support the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to homeland Tibet
  2. Release all political prisoners in Tibet
  3. Renew Sino-Tibet dialogue in good faith and support human rights in Tibet
