UN: Condemn Israel's assassination of Iranian scientists

UN: Condemn Israel's assassination of Iranian scientists
The Issue
Open letter to the United Nations
Condemning the assassination of Iranian scientists.
We, the undersigned, citizens, students, researchers and human rights defenders, call on the United Nations to officially condemn the assassination of Dr. Zoulfaqari, Dr. Minouchehr, Dr. Tehranchi and the scientists who served their country.
It is perfectly natural for a young person who was born, raised and educated in Iran to work for his country.
Political differences between countries should not be an excuse to destroy a country’s scientific capital.
This act, carried out with remote-controlled weapons, violates the principles of international law and human rights. Scientists should be protected, not targeted.
We call on the United Nations to:
Recognize this act as a crime against science.
Initiate an independent investigation.
Establish universal protection for civilian scientists.
Science should never be subject to the death penalty.
