As a NBPOC in Greek Life at UMass Lowell, I am outraged at the fact that UMass Lowell has rejected student’s proposals to instate a Black Fraternity within our Greek Life. Students have expressed how they want a Fraternity related to their history and to represent their culture. There are 10 Fraternities/Sororities on campus and only one of them is Multicultural. Please show your support in wanting to have a Black organization on campus. I would be proud and more comfortable to be in Greek Life if this happened.   

Your Fraternity or Sorority is a place where you are surrounded by people who have the same goals and aspirations. Friendships go beyond your fours, some even lasting a lifetime. UMass Lowell has denied this ability to its black students. There needs to be diversity within UMass Lowell Greek Life.
