Today, the National Executive of UKIP rejected the resignation of Nigel Farage from the leadership of the party. 

Following his defeat in the South Thanet by-election, Nigel Farage stood down from his position at the head of UKIP, stating that he intended to fulfil his promise to resign upon his defeat. The UKIP party leadership has defied his right to resign, stating that "This offer was unanimously rejected by members who produced overwhelming evidence that the Ukip membership did not want Nigel to go."

Denying Mr Farage his right to resign is an infringement on the human rights that he fought so hard to uphold during his leadership, and should not be accepted. Please help to give Nigel his freedom by signing this petition.
