Problem
I suffer from Autism like many others in the UK and I find it hard to go out by myself without my Support Animal who happens to be a parrot, he helps me have the confidence to go out in public and perform daily tasks for example just by simply going to the local shops, if I didn’t have my Support Animal with me then I wouldn’t be able to preform such easy tasks.

I sometimes get refused entry to some shops because I have a parrot with me, the shop managers say that I can’t bring a parrot into the shop as people are allergic to them, but what we also have to remember is that people are also allergic to dogs but the are Assistances Animals and are legally allowed into shops/restaurants without any sanctions put in place.

Solution
The solution would be for parrots to be recognised as Support Animals and have no sanctions set in place for where they can go.

Personal story
I have Autism and I find it extremely hard to go out by myself to shops or socialise with other people.

I have a one year old Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot who is my Support Animal who’s namw is Rio, he comes everywhere with me even to the shops or to simply socialise with other people.

Ever since having him his helped me greatly and everyone who knows me can see what an incredible impact Rio has made to me and without him by my side I will be sure to collapse and not want to do anything what I can do with him.

I plead for you to make it legal to have parrots as Support Animals.
