Stop Online Scalpers

Stop Online Scalpers
The Issue
I am starting this petition in hope of change. I was one of many victims of theft from Amazon.co.uk when hoping to receive a Sony PlayStation 5 Console. Despite preordering in September and paying for my product, I had problems involving my delivery and when I eventually “received” it from Amazon, my parcel contained a 1.5l bottle of pet stain and odour wash instead.
After a lot of contact with customer services from my end, all I was offered was a refund and not a guaranteed replacement once more stock was available.
The PlayStation 5 is an extremely sought after product and where no retailer has any stock, these are being sold on auction websites for more than double their RRP. I believe my PlayStation 5 console has been stolen for this reason.
Online scalpers have been a large contributor to stock being even more difficult to purchase by regular consumers. Organised groups used bots and workers to secure purchases from online retailers and resell them for extortionately inflated prices. I have attached news articles relating to this.

I cannot understand why there is no law to prevent this practice. How can it be fair trading to take away as much stock from genuine retailers to try and force consumers to spend more? There should at least be restrictions on products which have only just been released from the manufacture.
As a huge gamer, I have been distraught at not receiving the PlayStation 5 console that I thought was secured over two months ago. I am forced to compete against not only other genuine consumers but organised groups with the resources to make my chances of buying a replacement for my stolen console even harder.
I know that my story is shared by many others. Please can you sign this petition so we can try to put an end to this criminal scalper practice.
