We believe that we, the Mothers should legally be able to change our Childs name to our Family name without an absent Father's consent.

We believe that if a Father has not contributed towards the Childs life, and has been absent for 3 years then the Mother has the right to remove, the absent Father's Name from all dealings, proceedings, certificates actions, and records.

This is particularly beneficial to a Child that has witnessed or been the victim of Domestic or Mental abuse, drugs, or alcohol as we believe that every time the Child writes his surname, being the perpetrator's surname that this is detrimental to the child's mental health and a constant reminder of the abuse or abandonment. 

We also believe that a Family network, where all parties have the same name, eg siblings, brothers and sisters from different marriages or partners, gives a sense of unity to the family, and gives a sense of belonging.

We need to get 10,000 signatures for a response and 100,000 for this to be heard in parliament.  Please share and sign !
