Legalise pepper spray for self defence in the UK

The Issue

We at the Owner Rights Cooperative believe that pepper spray has not only been wrongly classified within UK law but also that people should have the right to use pepper spray as a form of legal self defence.

Sure there are currently sprays on the UK market the cater for the vulnerable like farb spray but as a deterrent these only go as far as slightly resembling CS Spray, since the uk public hasn't much experience with such items it is safe to say that visual deterrence is all but void. Yes these sprays like Farb leave UV imprints on anyone sprayed with them but does this do anything to prevent any immediate attack?

Would you rather be able to prevent an attack while maintaining non lethal methods?

Should these sprays be in the same classification as a sub machine gun?

Support the Owner Rights Cooperative in removing pepper and CS sprays from the firearms act 1968 giving the UK public the option to own and use for self defence reasons.

"Section 5(1) (b) of the firearms act 1968 prohibits any weapon of any description designed or adapted for the discharge of any noxious liquid, gas or other substance"
