The Issue

My Dad, Trevor Barry Smith was 53 when he was killed by Miss Kate Woodhead on 29th May 2016. Not only was she over the ‘prescribed limit’ she was driving at 76mph on 40mph road. Mine and my sisters and brother (Jade, Sophie, Chloe and Lee) lives were turned upside down when we found out.

It has taken nearly 2 years to finally get some justice. When I say some that’s all it was. Some. My Dad was 3 hours of his 54th birthday and all Kate Woodhead received was a 9 year sentence (out in 4 and a half) for a good behaviour and a 10 year driving ban. This won’t stop her. After she killed my dad she got behind the wheel of a another car and caused another crash. Uninsured and no license.

Just like us, there are other families out there that received the same or less as a result of losing a loved one. Something needs to be done and this is what I’m trying to do. Make a change. Make a difference. Make it real for people who think it’s cool and clever to drink drive or speed.
