As someone who has suffered the effects of Endometriosis and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) for several years, the pain you can carry from day to day can be very intense and not something which can be understood unless you have been through it yourself. 

I have repeatedly asked for a hysterectomy than go through the next 40+ years like this but I have been told due to my age and the fact I don’t have children it’s “very unlikely” to happen or in otherwise it will not happen at all. 

This isn’t an isolated incident, women all over the world suffer this every day and are told the same thing even if the results of these illnesses have made them infertile and unable to have children anyway in case you change your mind about having kids. 

I believe it should be each woman’s decision as long as they know what they are getting into especially when it comes to a major operation and instantly hitting the menopause. It’s not something anyone enters into lightly and deciding to have this done to avoid years of pain with no proven cure yet is not something anyone thinks lightly about.
