End Police Brutality- UK

End Police Brutality- UK
The Issue
On May 25th the world watched as news outlets across the world reported on the death of George Floyd, a black man who was arrested for supposedly having a counterfeit bill and restrained using the knee to the neck tactic, despite the fact this can cause serious injury and is not taught as a form of restraint. His arresting officer Derek Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd's neck for over 8 minutes leading to Floyd's eventual death.
Yet another life has been claimed at the hands of police brutality. HOWEVER upon doing research it is evident that this problem is not only occurring in America.
The United Kingdom is not innocent!
There are a number of cases of people particularly those from ethnic minorities being restrained, severely injured or killed by the Police force with no justification for doing so
We cannot sit here in silence and act as though this is not a problem. Ignorance is no longer bliss, this is not something we can ignore. We need change and we need it now
This is to call upon the UK Government to review the current laws they have that support misconduct within the police force.
In addition, the current laws against police misconduct state that the police cannot use unnecessary force unless there is an imminent threat to them or others, any police officer breaching these rules particularly due to race should be fired effective immediately from the british police force as that is not what this country stands for.
Get the UK Government to create a bill protecting countless numbers of people from Police brutality as there are very little laws regarding this. All police officers should also be required to go through a modified training programme where they are taught about the rights they can exercise as an officer and take part in anti-racism training.

We should not be fighting this battle, nobody should be mistreated because of the colour of their skin. The world cannot continue like this.
It starts at home, your support is needed.
Please get the UK Government to review their policies against police brutality
