During the extended 'lockdown' response to the Covid-19 victims of domestic abuse and violence are at heightened risk.  Victims will find help and support harder to access and refuges are likely to be full and a high risk for coronavirus spread.  The government must take action to provide emergency accommodation now.

Refuges are already overcrowded and evidence from China indicates that domestic abuse cases may double during the Covid-19 crisis.  Urgent action is required. The UK government response has seen advice on coronavirus measures for existing refuges; this is wholly inadequate.

Police warn of rise in domestic violence cases.
