The BBC licence fee is currently paid by anyone with a TV/Screen, regardless of viewing habits.

It is presently a television tax on everyone, rather than those who use the BBC.

It should only be paid by those who wish to use their services.

This will also help those over 75 who now have to pay for a television licence, but do not use BBC services. 

The BBC always uses the tired defence that its present licence funding allows it to act with impartiality.  However, at present, it acts in a manner accountable to no one and to many people, appears to promote its own agenda in many areas.

A move to subscription would make the BBC more responsive to the needs of its users, including those outside of London. 

The UK government and Parliament have the power to listen to the grassroots and make BBC subscription happen.

The BBC consistently lauds the quality of its output as world beating and its integrity and impartiality as something of prime concern to viewers and listeners.  If this is true, the BBC should have nothing to fear from a move to becoming a subscription service.
