Supermarkets have gained an unfair trading advantage during this national lockdown over local independent stores selling non essentials. The Independents have had to close their doors to the public whilst the supermarkets have been allowed to carry on trading as normal.

What independents want is fairness and parity, either we can all trade on equal terms or no one should be allowed.

What I want to achieve from this petition is to send a clear message to the UK Government that Independent retailers should be treated fairly and allowed too carry on trading in a safe manner. Many Independents have invested heavily in making their premises COVID safe.

The High street was suffering before this pandemic, the lockdown will kill it if we are not careful.

Don't let the local Independent retailers go out of business, keep the high streets alive and let Independents OPEN
