Making Fireworks Fun For Everyone.

The Issue

For every person who loves fireworks there is another who struggles with them, they may be a child with Autism or a sensory disorder, a dementia sufferer, a PTSD sufferer, and the one a lot of people understand a pet owner watching the fear and injuries to their beloved pets.

Nobody wants to stop bonfire night and the pure enjoyment it brings for many but lets get back to keeping it to the one night a year it should be celebrated rather than the month longer fiasco it has become. For many the fact bonfire night fell on a 'school night' was hugely exciting meaning you not only got to stay UP late but you got to stay OUT late as well! You got to eat things you normally wouldn't and watch huge organised displays in your town or city that took your breath away and you drew pictures and wrote stories about at school the following day regardless of how tired you were. Sadly most of today's children will never understand these feelings as the focus of the celebrations is diluted over the 2 weeks each side of the actual date itself now.

We the undersigned call on the UK Government to BAN the sales of fireworks to the general public and RESTRICT them to organised displays arranged by LICENSED explosive handlers which can ONLY take place on November 5th each year.
