Make the websites such as freeads and pets4homes accountable for the trade they help promote, and if they can not govern their customers correctly, they should not be allowed to advertise the sale of animals online. A suitable organisation should be appointed to draw up the requirements of accreditation, but it should be an annual assessment to ensure advertisers audit the sellers to confirm they care for their animals in a proper way. Rules for accreditation should include welfare of both the parent animals and the young, and should guarantee proper registration and health of the animal.
