Support UIUC students in saving their GPA.

The Issue

The University of Illinois has continuously failed its BIPOC community, especially when support was needed. How the University recently handled events: dealing with suicide, racism on campus, and other current issues, is unacceptable. We are asking for more. The counseling center is a great resource for us to go for help, however, 58 counselors is scarily disproportionate for a college with 52,331 students. Additionally, the students' mental health and the facilities required to help them should be prioritized as much as the budget for UIUC's other expenditures.

Currently, no changes have been made to our course load despite the unexpected switch over to virtual learning. Our grades should not have to bear the cost of the UIUC's lack of empathy/sympathy towards the social issues and circumstances currently. Furthermore, if the UIUC Administration truly values diversity they will accommodate their students.
