A dear friend of mine was brutally raped by a man named UGOCHUKWU DONALD EZEKWERE, popularly know as UGODON (the man in the picture above). He is a 400 level sociology student. He is a repeat offender (and 1 time rapist to the best of our knowledge). This particular case took place in July 2025. This rapist has not been punished despite having allegations as far back as 2023. It breaks my heart and shakes my faith in justice to see that despite the passage of time nothing has been done to bring her perpetrator to justice.

Ugodon has continued to further victimize her by sending her a cease and desist claiming he would sue her for defamation because she called out his heinous crime. He is not remorseful in any way and has even gone on to make mocking posts on various social media platforms. 

 As a society that values empathy, integrity, and justice we cannot stand idly by while a crime of such gravity goes unpunished.

Sexual assault is a heinous crime that leaves enduring scars on its survivors, affecting their physical, emotional, and mental well being. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women in Nigeria have been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. These survivors deserve not just our support,but a system that holds offenders accountable without delay.

In this particular case,evidence and testimonies that can serve justice are being overlooked. It is imperative that law enforcement prioritizes such cases and ensures that thorough investigations are conducted to prevent further victimization of the assaulted individuals. Prompt action is crucial not only in securing justice but also in helping survivors regain a sense of safety and trust in their communities.

This petition also aims at expulsion of the perpetrator, and apology from his university to his first victim on record that they called a liar. Also, to hold accountable institutions such as “Cage nightclub” whom he works for as a PR(promoter) and are aware of these allegations but continue to enable his actions by providing him with a platform to prey on vulnerable girls and women.
