Due to a recent increase in spiking in the UK and locally in Norwich we would like everyone to be searched upon entry to the LCR, the student club on campus at UEA. So many of us feel unsafe and there are not enough procedures in place to protect us. From personal experience I have not been searched upon entering the LCR, and perpetrators do not look a specific way. Everyone should be searched. We deserve to feel safe on our campus.  We need to focus on stopping people spiking not preventing ourselves getting spiked. Nobody should have the opportunity to spike anyone if searches are thoroughly done. The LCR is funded by the students and students demands for their well-being need to be taken seriously.
