Thank you to the Alberta Minister of Environment and Parks, Whitney Issik, for meeting with our representative Dale Cena on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. 

Minister Issik has been a longtime ally of the disability sector and was one of the ministers who voiced their support to ensure that disability support workers were eligible for the $1,200 Critical Worker Benefit in 2021.
 
We discussed the large population of care home residents in her constituency Calgary-Glenmore and our shared concern for the current labour crisis we are facing. Minister Issik will bring this issue forward to the treasury board and Minister of Community and Social Services, Jason Luan.
