On Wednesday, Nov 20, AFSCME 3299 will be going on strike!  This union represents custodians, food service workers, gardeners, and others who make life on this campus possible.  On Oct 2, the ASUC Senate passed a bill supporting AFSCME 3299, in recognizing that campus workers are vital members of our community, and their conditions and their contract have a direct impact on campus faculties and quality of service.

After months of negotiations, the UC forced their contract onto campus workers, including substantially increased employee contributions to their pensions and Health Insurance premiums.

We as a campus and a community must rally in solidarity with campus workers!  In signing this petition, we voice our support for campus workers' rights to a fair contract and to collective bargaining!
