Save the beloved Rainbow Six Siege operator, Recruit, from being nerfed

The Issue

Ever since the release of Rainbow Six Siege in December 2015, Recruit has been a fan favorite of both Attackers and Defenders. With the upcoming Year 5 Season 1 update Void Edge, Ubisoft has decided to rework Recruit by taking away its most beloved feature, being able to rush the Defenders using the 6P41 LMG or shields. Ubisoft has decided to take away Recruit's broad arsenal of 17 primary weapons on Attack and 13 primary weapons on Defense and replace them with 3 primary guns on Attack and just 2 on defense. This is a complete outrage! Ubisoft has decided to replace the feature of being able to choose from many different guns by giving the Recruits attachments on their guns... however, these attachments are defaulted and not customizable, like every other gun in the game. Ubisoft did decide to give recruits another reinforcement for walls, so it now has two just like all other defenders. Recruits also have some better options for guns, both primary and secondary, as well as more equipment to choose from, but nevertheless I believe it was a bad decision to change them. Because after all, why fix something that's not broken.

I honestly wonder if the devs at Ubisoft have ever played a casual game of rainbow where every person on the team picked Recruit, and rushed the other team regardless of whether they were Attacking or Defending. That was when you made great friends online when you were all messing around and just having a blast.

This is also an issue for anyone who is just beginning to get into Rainbow and don't have many operators unlocked if you even have any at all. People just beginning to play are going to want a broader gun availability, as they don't know what is and isn't good yet, and are most likely not going to test each gun in a custom game rather than in a normal game. A better range of weapons for Recruit is good for anyone. For an experienced player, just messing around with Recruits made the game a bit more interesting and fun. And for a new player, Recruit allowed them to try out almost all of the original operator's guns. I fully believe that Recruits should not be changed, and I hope that you support this cause as well.
