Ubisoft has a reputation for unique and engaging settings, this is true for many of their franchise but particularly Far Cry and Assassins Creed. Australia is a setting rarely given an in depth exploration, no games have sought to tackle the complex Australian goldrush that helped define our nation, our icons and our values. Immigrants from all over sought to strike it rich. It was the Aussie equivalent of the Wild West! Beyond it’s historical significance, Australia is a beautiful and unique place, our Wild life, flora and fauna were so strange that when stories were told of say the Platypus for example, those back home in Britain didn’t believe them! The dream time is a fascinating mythology that few have dared to explore, making it another unique aspect to the setting, creatures like the rainbow serpent and it’s ties to the Isu or Bunyips which while there are different accounts and beliefs about, are often associated as nature guardians near watering holes and very deadly magical creatures. Who hasn’t dreamed of meeting Ned Kelly and at a time where the law was out of control and many fought the power it ties perfectly into the core of the franchise. The rocky dangerous terrain makes for unique parkour potential and may have a large number of iconic locations, imagine, climbing Uluru or the Three Sisters! Swimming in a billabong or the Great Barrier Reef! Roaming the red desert or parkouring through untamed bush land! If you agree make your voice heard! Spread the word!
