UBER HAS GONE TOO FAR! DRIVERS ARE BEING FORCED TO QUIT!!!
The Issue

I don’t think that when a person goes online to order an Uber knows that the rising costs of fares is not being passed down the the driver. The riders are upset because drivers won’t accept trips with a long destination and/or long pickups because we lose money. Remember that drivers are only paid while the rider is on the car.
A 10 minute 3 mile pickup sounds reasonable but if we see a large amount of miles ( 74 in 1 hour and 35 minutes for example) to drop off the rider at his destination, this means the driver has driven 148 miles in 3 hours. The driver is underpaid for the ride at $.79 per mile at $.11 per minute$53 and Uber charges the rider $125. The driver sucks up the fuel costs and time as they return back to the city.
The Ride Share companies that millions rely on daily, have a insulting business practice to under pay the drivers and by not being honest to passengers. Many good drivers have quit especially in smaller markets.
Drivers for Uber and Lyft are independent contractors and are responsible for all costs: Fuel, maintenance like oil changes, replacing tires, registration, car washes, garage fees, cell phone bills, and everything else before, , during and after the ride is completed.
Uber and Lyft are exploiting drivers by a 50% to 55%. Sometimes up to 65% cut out of the riders inflated fares. See picture #1, #2 and #3.
Do you think these snap shots show a fair and balanced situation!

Besides not paying into the drivers social security benefits. The drivers for Uber are classified as independent contractors which Uber does not have to pay its drivers minimum wage. Instead we drivers are responsible for all costs for completing a trip safely and efficiently.
Uber has taken away the $. 55 fuel surcharge per trip and IF there are any promotions or opportunities, Uber floods the market and bonuses can be lost cause. We now can get 2% back when we fill our cars up. Last time I filled my tank, I saved $0.80! If we download another app we CAN get up to $0.25 off per gallon. The highest in my market only gets up to $0.11 off a gallon.

This failed business practice is forcing drivers to quit and /or not accepting rides when the drivers total expenses besides fuel (driving to the pickup point, while the passenger is in the car and either driving to another pickup or back too where the driver accepted the request ) outweighs what Uber and Lyft will pay.
This outrageous cut and rare monetary “opportunities” for the drivers to earn enough to cover costs and profit has turned into barely making minimum wage. Another negative impact from the inflated cost to the passengers, tipping is rare especially in the smaller markets

These Inflated fares and longer wait times for the passengers has wiped out the original business model as a cheaper and less reliable than taxi services.
Now is the time for action! Drivers need the public’s support!! Uber and Lyft has ignored the desperation expressed by by the drivers and.the huge difference between what riders pay and what drivers get
Many riders have expressed their concerns that their extra money riders pay are not being passed to the drivers.
Uber continues to lie to the public about what percentage goes towards operation costs and safety “cut” taken out of the fare.
We drivers deserve much more that this. Riders don’t deserve their higher costs explanation from Uber “ for increased overhead costs”!
I am a part time driver for Uber but recently have had to work more due to inflation. The increase in gas prices, utility bills, car insurance, rent and food and most drivers really struggling to make ends meet.
Riders share corporations have been taking advantage of my fellow drivers forcing us to accept this or quit.
We are all tired of the excuses Uber tells the public! Uber even claims that riders will benefit from the increased ride fares . We are tired of being “independent contractors “ driving for Uber but we have no control over the lower fares we receive. We are told that we have control over which rides we accept and the situations behind cancellations but drivers will lose their “status “ if the driver refuses trips that will cost the driver more than the $ 0.79 a mile at $0.11 a minute the driver receives as compensation.
Anyone who uses or drives for a ride share service or for delivery services and is against huge corporations profiting from its exploitation of the workers……
