Did you know that 1 in 7 children experienced child abuse and neglect in the last year? (CDC, 2021). How about that in 2019 alone, there were about 1,840 child deaths due to neglect and abuse? (childwelfare.gov) That is over 5 children dying every day!

These children have little power and voice within our country; they are the most vulnerable population.

Help us in supporting H.R.485, an act that increases the protection of children from abuse and neglect in a multitude of ways, including increasing access to effective services for diverse populations, improving family strengthening services, and addressing racial bias within the Child Protective Services system. 

This petition has been created by four masters of social work students, determined to protect the rights of ALL children by preventing child abuse and neglect BEFORE it begins!
