I love ramen. You love ramen. We all love ramen noodles! We love the ramen from a 99¢ package, we love takeout ramen and we love to eat ramen in a proper atmosphere complimented by saki or an ice cold Sapporo/ Kirin beer. What we don’t love? Overpaying for ramen. In Japan, ramen starts at about $2 USD. In California, ramen is typically sold for $8 on average. Both are reasonably priced and you’ll more than likely have left overs. But, once you arrive on the east coast and try to find an establishment that’ll make your tastebuds say “ありがとうございました” (thank you), you’ll quickly come to realize that ramen cost an unjustifiable $15-$20. This is inexcusable. I consider ramen noodle to be a basic human right. A fundamental right that keeps college students from starving, cures hangovers, gives the exhausted professional a quick, easy yet delicious dinner without having to clean up and promotes the uncultured American to step outside of his/her/their usual steak and potatoes diet. I do not want to live in a world that is not influenced by Japanese culture or traditions. This petition is to make a traditional bowl ramen noodle over the price of $8 illegal. This is fair and this is long overdue.
