I as well as thousands of others work as medical assistants who work at Covid-19 testing sites doing our part to help to keep the world safe from this virus. I've worked in states like California and FL where the pay was satisfying for the work we were doing but then in my home state (GA) I find we (medical assistants) are working the full test site for half the pay. Medical Assistants do the registering,  insurance verification, screening, swabbing, lab testing and charting. At other sites RNs get paid top dollar to complete the swabs,  while MA's collect data, do vitals, ect. Everyone works as a full team to get this job done. All medical assistants who are working Covid-19 sites deserve equal pay across the country. We put our life on the front line just the same as those making $5k a wk so why are we barely making $800? Why do we have to leave our families behind and go to other states to make the income we should be making in our home states, when we face the same exposure risk as RN's, NP's, PA's and all others on the top of the food chain? Are our lives worth less because of our titles? We need change and fair earnings during this pandemic for all Healthcare staff.
