The Statue of Liberty has symbolized America's openness to refugees and immigrants for more than a century. Her torch is a beacon of freedom for the world. As long as President Trump's discriminatory ban on refugees and immigrants is in place, we as a country do not deserve her.

We are asking the National Park Service to turn off the lights on the statue and her torch until the ban is repealed. America has no claim to the statue if we reject everything she stands for. Only when the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses are welcomed once again should Lady Liberty's torch be relit.
