Instate a 2015 Kardashian Blackout

The Issue

America: Enough is enough.

Since 2007, we have been subjected to constant coverage of the ins and outs of the Kardashian/Jenner family: from sex tapes to marriages/divorces, and a million other things in between. I'm dismayed to say that "Keeping up with the Kardashians" seems to have surpassed a television show, and has ballooned into a national pastime.

America: Enough is enough. It is time to end this Kardashian circus.

The most recent antic--Kim Kardashian's "Break the Internet" photo shoot for Paper magazine--is the final straw. These people behave in scandalous and amoral ways for money and shock value, all the while affecting our society's value system as millions consume their vapid, materialistic "lifestyle" and seek to emulate it. Somehow, behaving like a Kardashian has been slowly accepted as in any way a decent way to live. Worse, many out there look up to it as something to aspire to.

Of course, this is America. They are well within their right to live as they do, just as Kim is well within her right to show her bare bits to the world as she so pleases.
But do we not have a right to not have this family shoved down our throats?? We've reached the point where this family is inescapable! No longer do you need to view their show, follow them on social media, or indulge in entertainment news to be in the know about their doings...they're everywhere! When did this family's inane happenings become fodder for accredited news sites? Why, despite my wish to spend just one day with no mention of a Kardashian (or Jenner), am I bombarded with information about these people left and right??

America, I repeat to you: Enough is enough!

This petition seeks to achieve a media blackout of all things Kardashian/Jenner, beginning in 2015. These television personalities are not relevant beyond the specific entertainment news outlets designed for them, and should NOT be featured elsewhere! Entertainment news and gossip websites are the ONLY place this family belongs. It is perfectly reasonable--and long overdue!!--that we demand that reputable news sites, on local and national levels, refrain from covering them as though they are anything more than hollow Hollywood creations.
