Mackenzie Dupre started this petition to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and

The goal of this petition is to demand that immigrants receive humane treatment when under ICE's care and to stop forced removals.

91 Somali deportees were being returned to Somalia on a flight when some of the detainees reported that ICE displayed inhumane treatment for 48 hours. They filed a lawsuit stating that agents forced them to remain seated, refused them restroom access, and caused physical harm through kicking, choking, and dragging them. Immigrants have also reported similar mistreatment from workers at detention centers. It is completely unacceptable for US government officials to be acting in a way that is harmful and aggressive. From 2017 to 2018 there was a considerable increase in forced removals of Somali citizens, from 198 to 521 in 2017. Under the Trump administration, there have been increased scrutiny, travel bans, and deportations that threaten to break apart families.

Please sign this petition to demand that immigrants are treated with basic human decency when under government care. The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Employees should have anti-violence trainings and be taught how to de-escalate high-risk situations without resulting in abusive behavior.
