Why this petition matters

Started by Wayne Williams

We the people, petition the Senate to exercise it's constitutional power and remove from office by a two-thirds vote for expulsion, Senator Addison Mitchell "Mitch" McConnell, Jr. of Kentucky for committing "a high misdemeanor, entirely inconsistent with his public duty and trust as a Senator.”

Having publicly stated his vow to:

Thwart any legislative initiative offered by the Senate to end the Govt shutdown, unless what is submitted would be acceptable to the president of the United States  regardless of the benefit to the American people, and to reopen our Govt is a dereliction of duty, blocks the operation of govt, and violates the separation of powers as detailed in Article 1of the United States Constitution.

This is contrary to his sworn obligations under the Constitution by refusing the "Advice and Consent" provision:

Such dereliction of duty is in direct contradiction to his sworn duty to the American people and has the effect of impeding the normal function of government.

For this and other high misdemeanors, we respectfully demand that the Senate begin removal proceedings against Mitch McConnell.
