In order for The "United" States of America to fully embody the movement towards anti-racism, anti-discrimination and equality... In order for The "United" States to become a country that it was named to be... The confederate flag cannot continue to be allowed to move forward along with it and must officially be BANNED. The confederate flag used today was a part of the second and third Confederate national flag and the battle flag used in the Civil War. A war fought on the basis of DIVISION, RACISM, ENSLAVEMENT and OPPRESSION within the country. 

  The Confederacy, Slavery, The Dixiecrats and Segregation have all been defeated, abolished and outlawed but, then why is the Confederate flag today, that is a racist living relic that symbolized and represented all four, still allowed to be raised high today? That proves that the Confederacy, Slavery and Segregation have not fully been prohibited until the flag has been banned along with them. The Confederacy was built upon slavery and a flag that was used to represent slavery should NOT be allowed to be used and displayed today. A flag that was used to represent Segregation should NOT be allowed to be used and displayed today. A flag that represents white supremacy and a Confederacy that fought to retain Slavery should NOT be allowed to be used and displayed today. A flag that was used by a Segregationist political party, The Dixiecrats, that formed to maintain Jim Crow Laws and to oppose the efforts to change the South's racial status quo should NOT be able to be used and displayed today. A flag that is used by the Ku Klux Klan should NO longer be able to be used and displayed today. 

  The 13th amendment, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Federal Hate Crime Laws are just meaningless words that fail to protect all individuals it was written for if the Confederate flag, an item and symbolism purposely constructed and used to signify enslavement, Segregation, oppression, discrimination, white supremacy and inequality is still allowed to be produced, sold, used and displayed today. Therefore, the use of the confederate flag today clearly violates the 13th Amendment, The Civil Rights Act, The UDHR and Federal Hate Crime Laws because it is a RESIDUAL act of slavery, segregation, oppression, discrimination, intimidation and inequality being displayed as a flag to still express white superiority and it's hostile racial division. William Tappan Thompson called the second national flag of the confederacy, that featured the confederate battle flag on a white background , "The White Man's flag". When further explaining the meaning of the white background being joined with the confederate battle flag he said, "As a people we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause." Again I ask, why is the racist confederate battle flag still allowed to be used and displayed today? 

  Germany's penal code has Banned the use of Nazi and Communist symbols (outside the context of use in art or science, research or teachings) and also, unconstitutional organizations. Why hasn't America banned the confederate flag and declared white supremacist, The Ku Klux Klan and Neo-Nazi groups as unconstitutional? 

It has been long overdue and the time is NOW, once and for all, to BAN the sales, use and display of the confederate flag and to officially make it illegal in the US (outside the context of use in art or science, research or teachings)!
