This petition hopes to encourage the US government to collaborate with various other country governments and collectively focus on finding treatment for the Thoracic and Varroa mites and making it available to farmers all around the world. The bee population has been declining globally for the last 15 years and at this rate we are at risk of loosing our beloved bees that help us so much. They are the major pollinators for the produce we eat and for the pretty flowers outside. They have helped us so much and it's time we return the favor. The Thoracic and Varroa mites have been the biggest threat. The Varroa mite has spread to almost all parts of the world. These mites can infest and kill colonies in around 3 years. Not only do they kill colonies, but they can also transmit other disease and infect and weaken the colonies. They weaken the adults and brood of the colonies. There has been effort to study these mites and find treatment for the bees but so far there is no a luck in finding a Varroa-resistant strain of the Western honey bee. Because of this threat and decline in bees, bee keepers, bee renters and farmers are loosing their bees and pollinating produce is becoming difficult. This is why the US government should collaborate with other governments around the globe to help find a solution to this global agricultural and environmental issue.
