The centralization of consular services for Haitian-Americans in Port-au-Prince has always been  perilous for AMERICANS living in the northern part of Haiti due to the level of danger associated with the condition of the roads and the overall safety conditions of the motor vehicles that connect Cap-Haitian and Port-au-Prince. Many residents of Cap-Haitians at some point in their lives have witnessed families losing loved ones because of common tragic road accidents. These people have died simply because they had a consular or immigration related appointment in Port-au-Prince. Now, more than ever, DUE TO INCREASING GANG VIOLENCE, RAPE AND KIDNAPPING, being in Port-au-Prince is becoming a trauma inducing experience for some people-including Haitian-Americans with root in the greater northern side of Haiti- North, Northeast, Artibonite, Northwest, and Center Region. 

In light of this new unfortunate reality of Port-au-Prince, We are calling on the US Government and Congress to facilitate the implementation of a new US consulate in CAP-HAITIAN or in any other northern city to serve half of Haiti, 5 Departments and thousands of AMERICANS settled in or rooted from these regions.

IT'S AN OVERDUE! WE NEED A CHANGE!

La centralisation des services consulaires pour les Haïtiano-Américains à Port-au-Prince a toujours été périlleuse pour les AMÉRICAINS vivant dans la partie nord d'Haïti en raison du niveau de danger lié à l'état des routes et aux conditions générales de sécurité des véhicules à moteur. qui relient Cap-Haïtien et Port-au-Prince. De nombreux habitants de Cap-Haïtiens à un moment donné de leur vie ont vu des familles perdre des êtres chers à cause d'accidents de la route tragiques courants. Ces personnes sont décédées simplement parce qu'elles avaient un rendez-vous consulaire ou lié à l'immigration à Port-au-Prince. Maintenant, plus que jamais, EN RAISON DE L'AUGMENTATION DE LA VIOLENCE DES GANGS, DES VIOLS ET DES ENLÈVEMENTS, être à Port-au-Prince devient une expérience traumatisante pour certaines personnes, y compris les Haïtiens-Américains ayant des racines dans le grand nord d'Haïti - Nord, Nord-Est , Région de l'Artibonite, du Nord-Ouest et du Centre.

À la lumière de cette nouvelle réalité malheureuse de Port-au-Prince, Nous appelons le Gouvernement et le Congrès américains à faciliter la mise en place d'un nouveau consulat américain à CAP-HAITIAN ou dans toute autre ville du Nord pour desservir la moitié d'Haïti, 5 Départements et des milliers d'AMÉRICAINS installés ou enracinés dans ces régions.
