Please Allow Cosplay Costumes in Schools

Please Allow Cosplay Costumes in Schools
The Issue
When you step into a costume you become someone new and different. Costumes can help a person to feel strong and brave. When dressing up like a character the individual wearing the costume is able to garner a bit of strength from that character. Students who are allowed to step into a costume before facing their school day gain a confidence that they don't otherwise possess. Students should be allowed to learn and grow in the way that is most comfortable for them, and for some that means dressing in cosplay costumes when they are headed to school.
We, the undersigned, would like the U.S. Department of Education to know that we feel it the right of every student to get into character before attending school each day. Students should be allowed to feel confident when attending school, their confidence should be encouraged and supported in every way. If wearing a cosplay costume helps a student to feel more comfortable then those Students should be allowed to wear the costumes to school every day. School is a place for education to take place, but it is also a place where students should feel confident. Students should be allowed to make the decision about what they wear to school, even if that means that they are going to dress in a costume. Please consider Students and their rights. Please stop the rules against costumes and change the future of those students who long to dress up before heading to class each day!
