Re-locate the South St. tower 1500 feet away from any school.

The Issue

We, citizens of Blue Hill, Maine and surrounding towns, respectfully request that US Cellular relocate its proposed cell tower from West Lane, off of South Street, to a location 1500 feet or more from any school or day care center. We acknowledge that this buffer zone is significantly greater that current FCC regulations but nonetheless request this allowance to allay the heartfelt concerns of many parents who have children in school and daycare within less than 500 feet of the currently planned site. (Note that these children come not only from Blue Hill but also from many surrounding towns.) We are certain that there are multiple nearby sites that can meet this proposed setback and meet the siting criteria of US Cellular. This request is in no way anti-cellphone or anti-broadband. We welcome and appreciate increased services. Thank you.
