U.S. Army Sergeant Nelson O. Rodriguez was sentenced to only three years after (six years for each charge, ran concurrently for a total of three years) facing trial as three of his six victims pursued criminal charges against him in military court. All six of his victims were his subordinates at one point while stationed on Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. One of the soldiers he violently sexually assaulted on two separate occasions. Another of the victims he violently attacked and sexually assaulted in the home in which his (now ex) wife (who is also a service member), 4 year old daughter, and 19 year old younger sister lived with him. This victim’s rape took place in the very same bed he shared with his wife at the time. None of these factors were deterrents from gruesomely raping and attacking these female service members. 

What he took from the victims cannot be returned. The only thing close to repayment for what he has done to his victims is to serve the very minimal sentence he did receive. The victims will carry this with them for life. It is only fair that he is held accountable for his insidious actions. 

As it stands, he is moving forward with attempting to appeal his convictions to be overturned. This petition urges you to raise your voice against sexual assault in the military and demand accountability. Demand for justice to be served. Help us stop the appeal. Help the victims who did not have the opportunity to see their case in court see justice. Help the victims of the convictions that were lost see justice. Help the victims who have yet to come forward see justice.
