The McCafferty subreddit is widely considered to be in a state of disrepair due to its current moderators and their histories.

Despite over fifteen firsthand witnesses coming forward to attest to Nick Hartkop's emotional, physical, and sexual abuse; over 74 pages of testimonies and evidence chronicling these events that have happened constantly for over 12 years; and the objections from the majority of users on the subreddit; /r/Mccafferty is still in the hands of a random user that "doesn't care".

Discussion on this topic has been forced to take place in /r/Emo, where proper moderators refuse to silence the truth and remove constructive  discussions simply because they don't want to see it.

Nick Hartkop assigned this head admin himself, and is likely still in contact with him as Nick has been known to do. He requests that people in charge remove things that are negative towards him, and specifically looks for users that will blindly help him.

Neither Nick nor this head admin were originally moderators. Previous moderators either left due to Nick's behaviour or were banned from the subreddit. Users like /r/rawktail, /r/Time_Lord_Zane, and myself (/r/Effectator) were some of the originals moderators, and they denounce the current people in charge.

This alone is enough to declare these moderators unfit for the roles that they have. Not only are they undermining these victims by silencing most of what is said, but the head admin has even publicly responded discussions of rape with a video titled "Rape Can Be Funny". Routinely, almost all of these moderators have negative karma points due to the sheer amount of users that object to how they behave and moderate. They frequently argue with and insult others.

This is wrong. Discussion of McCafferty (let alone the truth regarding it) and their members should never be banned simply for taking place at all. /r/Emo should not have to host McCafferty-critical discussion simply because they know how to run a subreddit in comparison.

We poured far more time into it than these two users, and that should not be responded to with such deplorable behaviour.

Give us back the subreddit.
