As COVID-19 continues to break out at meat processing plants across the country, employees are claiming Tyson still isn’t implementing proper social distancing protocols. The multibillion-dollar company’s ongoing inaction has resulted in at least 10,104 of its own employees contracting the novel coronavirus—and that is out of the 49,000+ U.S. meatpacking, food processing, and farm workers who have tested positive for COVID since March. This percentage is disturbing—and it is Tyson’s responsibility to keep its staff safe.
If you are also ready for Tyson to take meaningful action and enact stronger protections, join us by completing the following quick actions!
-
Action 1 - Comment on Tyson Foods’ latest LinkedIn post and urge its leadership to stop putting profits over human rights, public health, and animal welfare. You can use the following example as inspiration for your own comment:
Tyson’s leadership continually puts profits above its workers’ health, the safety of the communities in which it operates, and the wellbeing of the millions of animals in its supply chains. @Tyson-Foods, it’s time to do better. That’s why I signed this petition: https://www.change.org/p/tyson-stop-neglecting-workers-animals-and-public-health -
Action 2 - Call or text Tyson Brands at 1-800-233-6332 to remind Tyson leadership that consumers are watching—and waiting—for real progress to be made!
Sample message: Hello, I recently saw the JohnRTyson.co website about Tyson’s Chief Sustainability Officer. John should be using his influence for good and adopting more progressive animal welfare and sustainability policies. Isn’t his job to lead initiatives like these? Please urge Tyson’s leaders to do better. The public is watching Tyson’s actions—and we certainly aren’t impressed so far.
Please keep sharing this petition with your family and friends! Together, we will make a difference for animals, workers, and public health.
