According to a study by the Food & Environment Reporting Network, “Over 10,000 Tyson Foods meat processing employees have contracted Covid-19 since the pandemic began.” Heartbreakingly, at least 24 have died. And as Tyson continues to allow thousands of its own employees to fall ill from its ongoing inaction and weak policies, it was recently announced that a new CEO will begin in October. Current Tyson Foods president Dean Banks will step into the role and “will be tasked with leading the meat industry giant out of the chaos caused by the pandemic.”
Let’s remind Tyson that now is a great time for its leaders to enact meaningful changes for workers, public health, and animal welfare. Join us by completing the following quick actions!
-
Action 1 - Email Dean Banks to let him know that he has the power to make real changes in his new position. You can click here, copy the following sample message, or write your own!
To: Dean.Banks@tyson.com
Subject: Use your influence for good.
Hello Dean Banks,
Congratulations on your new role. Now that you are becoming CEO of Tyson Foods, you have the power—and the responsibility—to enact changes that positively impact human rights, our planet, and animal welfare. Consumers care deeply about these issues, and you should too.
As a leader, please do the right thing by adopting stronger, more progressive policies and stop putting profits above all else. I look forward to your response.

Action 2 - Comment on Tyson Foods’ Facebook post to continue spreading awareness about Tyson’s history of immoral behavior.
Example comment: @TysonFoods, why do you refuse to take any real action to protect your own workers’ safety, public health, or the wellbeing of the animals in your supply chains? Your leadership’s ongoing deceit is why I signed this petition, and why I’d urge others to do the same: https://www.change.org/p/tyson-stop-neglecting-workers-animals-and-public-health
Please keep sharing this petition with your networks! The more signatures we can gather, the bigger impact we can have!
