Make Twitter Get Rid of "Fleets" (Stories)

The Issue

Twitter has made potentially their worst decision to date with the addition of "fleets", their equivalent of the story feature which has made so many other social media platforms unusable. For over a year now, Twitter has been my go-to social media platform, solely because they had not added this feature. I refuse to let them fall into the same downward spiral that has ruined so many others.

The "story" feature, as it's called on most platforms, is a form of post that disappears after 24 hours. While these stories are not a problem on their own (as much as I personally dislike them), another one of their key features is that they appear at the top of the front page of many platforms. This is very distracting to those who do not wish to see these posts. Some platforms (such as Facebook) even go so far as to forcefully flood your notifications with friends' story posts; Twitter (to my knowledge) has not yet attempted this, but if they do, I will no doubt leave the platform for good.

I will also propose a less extreme solution: adding the ability to make fleets invisible via a Twitter setting. If that becomes the case, those who wish to use this feature still can, and those like me won't have to constantly see them at the top of their timeline. Additionally, if at any point Twitter decides to send notifications when a user's friend uploads a fleet, they must be 100% optional.

I highly recommend sharing this petition with as many people as possible!
